Some people try and fit the in8model® into a box where rules and classifications of people abound. The in8model® is not a psychological tool. It’s not a system of naming or diagnosing personality types. It’s not a system of fixing people.
I like to think of the in8model is a sustainable, clean, energy efficient, non-polluting celebration of life.
Based on the fundamental premise that we are living in an organised and intelligent world we study what normal looks like and assist wherever we can to facilitate a person to express and adjust their eco-system to a higher level of function. In the process of this observation it is you who develops and grows as you marvel at the intricacies of how another does their life.
The in8model requires that there is nothing in and nothing out – nothing added and nothing taken away, just observation of what is, is what the in8model offers.
The key operational base of what we do is in our respect for the fact that every person is living their unique existence in their own perfect way. Everything that occurs can be a useful tool for a person to experience their live. I like to think of this life as a ride at the amusement park. We take a ticket and gain entry and then we take what the ride delivers. The key to our enjoyment is to remember that it is a ride that we have agreed to. I find that a long-term perspective is useful to appreciate that every circumstance has value.
The premise is that all the resources we will ever need are within and they have the ability to express (apart from those, which have been overcome by the limitations of matter).
Within this is the observation that people create their own unique Quadrant preferences as a result of their hierarchy of values. These values are derived from their perception of their life’s ride so far. We assume that the present state is perfect for the person and we can be the most use to them by joining their model of the world and seeing life through their lenses, not making them be or do what we think they should be.
As you go about your life this week consider your every move and ask yourself “Am I working with or against the Eco-Systems that are inherent within this person?”
